The eThekwini Municipality will host the Lions across Africa seminar to highlight key biodiversity and conservation issues today (Tuesday, 26 November) at the Durban Natural Science Museum (DNSM) at 5.30pm. The seminar is open to the public.
eThekwini Municipality Acting Head of Communications, Mandla Nsele, said the seminar would shine a spotlight on the possible impact of captive lion breeding on South Africa’s wild lion populations.
The DNSM will highlight issues of captive breeding and canned hunting in the country as Pippa Hankinson, campaign director for Blood Lions gives a speech. Through the seminar, Durban Natural Science Museum aims to create awareness, encourage participation and accountability of citizens for their surroundings and their impact on the environment.
